Gel-e sought two new grants that advocate the development of internal use of hemostats
$1.4M sought from the US Military Supports Project to Treat Aggressive Internal Bleeding and Improve Patient Outcomes.
Gel-e declared having sought two new grants that advocate the development of internal use of hemostats.
Gel-e has clinched a $1.4M grant from the Department of Defense through the US Army Medical Research and Material Command to initiate advanced solutions for prolonged field care. The grants advocates the development of an expanding foam hemostat for treatment of internal non-compressible hemorrhage.
Dr. Matthew Dowling, CSO of gel-e said “It is gratifying to have the DoD recognize our technology platform and support the synergy of this project with the expansion of our product line from the broad treatment of external wounds to those arising from combat.”
The Company has been optimizing flowable formulations for internal and surgical use. Consequently, certain product candidates have been identified that can be administered in far-forward locations to quickly stabilize internal injuries, allowing time for evacuation of the wounded to a field surgical OR.
